Frequently Asked Questions

Our customers and potential customers ask a lot of questions about auto glass, windshield replacement, insurance, and many other topics. We're more than happy to share our knowledge, to help them as much as we can. Here are a few of the questions we receive most often. If you have a question that is not listed below, please feel free to contact us.

a) Can I get the cost of windshield replacement covered by insurance?

If you have full comprehensive insurance the cost is covered. You will have to pay your comprehensive deductible, which is different from your collision deductible. Please check with your insurance representative to find out.

b) Do you bill my insurance or do they reimburse me?

We will bill your insurance company directly, so you don’t have the hassle.

c) Does windshield replacement affect my insurance rates?

No. Insurance is affected by collision claims, not comprehensive claims, which are what windshield replacement falls under.

d) Can you replace my windshield with something of the same quality I have now?

Of course. We use only certified auto glass for installations, and we make sure experienced and certified technicians install it. Windshield glass is integral to the safety of your vehicle and we take your safety seriously.

e) How long does auto glass replacement take?

The actual replacement takes about 1 hour, but we recommend not driving the vehicle for 2-3 hours to ensure full bonding of the sealants. Based on humidity, temperature, and other factors, we’ll give you a safe time to drive away.

f) Do you only do windshields?

No. We also provide services for all your auto glass needs, residential glass and we have a commercial glass division.

g) Can you replace my windshield when it’s raining or snowing?

Yes, but we need a covered carport, parking structure or garage to work in for mobile services in inclement weather.

h) What’s the big deal with installation of windshields?

Your windshield is integral to the safety mechanisms of your car. It supports the roof structure of the vehicle and acts as a backstop for airbag systems. A cracked, damaged or improperly installed windshield can compromise the safety performance of your vehicle in a collision.

i) Do I need to replace my windshield or can I just repair it?

Generally, cracks not longer than 15 cm (6 inches) or less than 7.5 cm (3 inches) from the edge of the glass can be safely repaired. If you’re not sure, request a quote and upload a picture of the whole windshield with the damage visible. We’ll let you know if it needs replacement.
